Cartier Panther Bond Street London
EMS was recently chosen on a sub-contract basis by Ambar Installations to produce this pure aluminium panther for the famous fashion brand Cartier.
You can see the finished article for yourself at their world-renowned London, New Bond Street store, it goes without saying, but this type of installation for such an iconic company does not come around too often.
The specification enabled our welders and fabricators to show off their architectural metalwork skills. The Panther certainly made a change from the average day to day tasks.
Made purely from Aluminium and weighing around 600 kilos, makes this particular Kitty heavier than your average.
To prevent distortion of the Panther’s backplate, we welded each section in sequence. The team then created the supporting box section, again from Aluminium, to which we welded the Panther’s backplate.
To form the lightbox and hold the LED edging lights the team rolled and profiled Aluminium sheeting around the edges of the Panther; this process served to enhance the beautiful warm LED glow and create a 3d effect. We produced the tail using the same rolling and edging technique.
Unlike its wild compatriot, this Panther’s gestation period was just over 3.5 weeks which included procuring the laser cut shapes.
We are pleased to have worked with Ambar Installations on creating such an incredible structure for the 2020 Christmas Cartier campaign. Other Cartier shops around the world have also decorated their premises with Panther structures, but (although heavily biased) we do believe that London stands out from the rest.
